About

A poet, bush philosopher, performing artist and political protagonist, I have lived on this earth of ours for over seventy  years now, and have seen some changes I would , even with my , some would say, overly vivid imagination, that even I marvel at today... Living, as we do now, in the electronic age, I stand in awe of my grandchildren, who will, by my age, have seen wonders that even they can't imagine at this stage.

I began writing poetry as a way of self expression back in 2004, when I wrote 'Marches', a poem in response to a call to ban relatives from marching in ANZAC day parades in some of the major capitals of Australia. It was a poem to honour the memory of my father, Cpl. Edward Mcloughlin, 2/6 RAME AIF, who marched away to defend his country in 1941 and returned five years later, after spending 4 years as a POW of the Japanese on the infamous Burma Railroad. Since then my personal and socially motivated poems have been enjoyed by many on social media sites and published in other media. My move into poetry workshops, hard copy publishing  and competition is my next major challenge.
